My Approach
I believe therapy should feel safe, collaborative, and deeply respectful. You won’t find quick fixes here—but you will find real, sustainable growth. Together, we’ll work to uncover what’s keeping you stuck and build new ways of relating rooted in trust, empathy, and emotional clarity.
My approach is collaborative, compassionate, and grounded in the belief that you already hold the wisdom needed to heal and grow. Together, we’ll explore the patterns, beliefs, and emotional experiences that may be shaping your current challenges. At your pace, we’ll work toward greater clarity, resilience, and a deeper connection with yourself.
Whether you’re looking for short-term support or longer-term exploration, therapy can be a powerful tool for change — and you don’t have to do it alone.
My History
I qualified in 2007 with a B.A in Social Care Practice from Athlone I.T. I then spent almost 15 years working in the Disability Sector, supporting people with various Intellectual disabilities and mental health issues. In 2015, I completed my Masters with ICHAS in Counselling and Psychotherapy. I have spent several years working with the Carlow and South Leinster Rape Crisis Centre while I was completing my Masters.
I have also completed training in the areas of Couples counselling and Levels 1-3 in EMDR with Gus Murray. As an integrative therapist, I blend various therapeutic approaches to meet each individual’s unique needs. My approach is rooted in a deep respect for the mind-body connection, recognizing that emotional, mental, and physical health are intertwined. My goal is to support clients in navigating life’s challenges, whether it’s managing stress, healing from past trauma, improving relationships, or developing healthier coping strategies.
You can see a detailed list of my credentials on my Credentials page.
Areas of Practice
1. Individual Therapy
As a Therapist who believes that meaningful change starts with feeling seen and heard. I work with individuals who are dealing with anxiety, stress, low self-esteem, life transitions, or just feeling stuck and unsure of what’s next. Therapy with me is a supportive space where you can talk openly, explore what’s going on, and start to make sense of it all.
My style is warm, real, and collaborative. I don’t believe in one-size-fits-all therapy—together we’ll figure out what works best for you. Sometimes that means talking things through, sometimes it’s learning new tools, and sometimes it’s just having a space to breathe and reflect.
Whether you’re going through a tough time or just want to get to know yourself better, I’m here to support you in whatever way makes sense for your journey.
2 .EMDR
What is EMDR Therapy?
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is a powerful, evidence-based therapy designed to help people heal from trauma and other overwhelming life experiences.
When a traumatic or highly stressful event occurs, the brain may become overwhelmed and unable to fully process the experience. As a result, memories can get “stuck” — showing up later as flashbacks, anxiety, or emotional triggers.
EMDR helps the brain reprocess distressing memories so they no longer feel as intense, painful, or disruptive. Many clients find EMDR helpful for reducing the emotional impact of:
- Past traumas
- Anxiety
- Panic attacks
- Grief and loss
- Phobias
- Negative self-beliefs
- Couples/Relationship Counselling
3. Couples/Relationship Counselling
I work with individuals and couples who want to feel more connected — to themselves and to the people they love.
My approach is person-centred, which means I believe you are the expert in your own life. I’m not here to fix you or give you a checklist — instead, I offer a space where you can be truly heard, without judgment. Together, we explore what’s going on underneath the surface, and work at your pace to find clarity, understanding, and a path forward that feels right for you.
Clients often come to me when communication has broken down, when trust has been shaken, or when they feel like they’ve lost themselves in a relationship. Others are navigating big changes — becoming parents, separating, or figuring out who they are in the context of love and connection.
